Monte:-“ So regarding the search engine space, why don’t you talk about what people can do from a search engine optimization standpoint, with their websites, with these domain names, which are really key for people to learn about and cover themselves on. Where you see the future of your industry and the protection of online brands and identities and making sure that companies are successful on the web.”
Noel:-“I think it is pretty basic and you know, I don’t want to pretend that I am anywhere near the expertise of you or your team. From my perspective it is pretty straight forward and you’ve got to get the good names and when you can get the relevant key words. And some people like to debate with whether that is going to help you or not. That certainly does help you and so that is important. I think that is the most important piece of it. I think one of the other most important parts is of course not to get yourself into trouble in this area because you can over do it just like anything and I know because I work with Yahoo very closely as a paid inclusion partner that they watch domain names very closely and what you are doing for them and we’ve all seen people who have a domain name for almost every page of their website, and they think because they have all these domain names, that they link them together and it’ll work. But our strategy has always been to, you know, protect the domain name and that’s really the main thing. If you protect that domain name and all the misspellings around it, you will drive an incredible amount of more traffic to your site. Let alone having your message diluted by others. So that’s the main issue and again, back to the protection. I think this is going to be a big area in the future. You want to do it for your own websites, but you really want to make sure your clients understand these issues. How to use ( robots.text) to keep your domains from being over crawled. Stuff like that, and keeping yourself from having mirrored content in the search engines. Because you really take advantage of these domain names and to make sure you are getting a lot of great quality traffic. If you are not careful about what you are doing, or leveraging the experts or studying up, you know, for your client you are going to get them in hot water and they are going to want to know why you don’t know about this space. Just like basic search engine optimization, basic domain management its about mastering the basic fundamentals of staying on top of this stuff and if you are doing that and you’ve got pros, you know, like Moniker.com like a good partner that are backing you up on this stuff, it can let you sleep at night, just like a good accountant or a good lawyer, and you are making money on it at the same time.”
