Monte:-“Since Market Leap was acquired by Digital Impact, how has that affected your business and what additional products and services do you have to offer to your clients as a result of that merger?”

Noel:-“It’s been explosive growth, we’ve hit the ground at about 300 miles per hours. Back in July we merged with Digital Impact and they are a Silicon Valley based company as well. So they have a similar culture as ours, but a much bigger company. Not a huge company. Market Leap grew from 10 employees, and now we are at 300 employees with this whole company,”

Monte:-“Wow.”

Noel:-“Digital Impact is the leading provider of email marketing services to global 2000 clients all over the world. They are sending on average, 2 million email messages an hour. It’s very huge. What that has done is opened up for us, the Market Leap team, and Digital Impact, is to bring search engine marketing to all these great clients that they already have. But our vision is more of integrating digital marketing and there are all kinds of great channels out there for acquiring new leads online. But search and email together work incredibly especially when they are coordinated. We’re not talking about just putting search engine marketing and an email marketing proposal on the same document and calling it integrated digital marketing. We’re talking about campaigns that are tied together. One area that has this impact is in the B to B space, because most of the B to B sites are not trying to close a financial transaction on their website because a lot of the times the sales are very complex and involved. And really require the beginning of a dialogue when someone’s doing research about a big….”

Monte:-“Supply information to help further the relationship.”

Noel:-“That’s right. You can take search and bring those people into your site, and give them opportunities to opt in be contacted, it sounds very basic, but when you tie this stuff together with email a lot of times you ask somebody ‘Would you like to take a chance on trying to close one person on one sale on your website, or would you like to be given their email address and then have the chance to follow up with them many times. And so when we can tie those campaigns together and then we tie our analytics and tracking together, so all the tracer tags and redirects servers are all on a common platform. We can see the patterns between search and email and how the effect each other and we can do a frequency analysis and just measure all that stuff to just really fine tune a complete online marketing program. To really acquire customers in the most efficient way you can.”

Monte:-“Yeah, that’s fantastic. And I can tell you what, you’re tools at Market Leap are pretty fantastic. Some of you may know but we are going to be integrating a UVP product and utilizing your feeds for link relevancy and link popularity and some of the relevant tools. Tell us a little about those tools and why they have become so popular, besides being free but some of the relevant information they provide. Because we are going to put that stuff on our site and going to create a nice new product. Jay, are you still onboard?

Jay:-“Yep.”

Monte:-“So maybe after Noel talks a little more about why we feel that these tools are important to help build. This is the original stages of registering a domain name. These tools are going to help people understand if the domain even existed before, how it’s valuable and some of those things.”

Noel:-“So we have three major tools that we put upon our site a few years age. Of course we’ve updated them over the years. It was a way of giving back to the search engine marketing and at the same time beginning our analysis of how important links really are and we built the first link popularity tool really as a reaction to Google hitting the scene way back when. And when everyone is reporting how important links have become. So we thought, let’s start tracking this stuff so that we can really see the relationship and start analyzing links and so that we can impact our own campaigns with that knowledge. And so now today we now have three major tools up there for free, that are extensions of tools we use internally for our clients. The link popularity check does the same check that you can do manually but does it across all the major search engines instantly. We store every single query and every result when someone comes to our site and puts a domain name in. so even if you haven’t checked on your name or anytime you check on a name you will store a history or a trend of that link popularity and that domain name.”

Monte:“That’s very cool.”

Noel:-“Sorry, go ahead.”

Monte:-“No I was just saying that is very cool. Very cool data you can get when you are registering a domain.”

Noel:-“Yeah. The other one that is popular is the search engine saturation tool which simply checking for any website how many pages does that website have in the search engine index, because this is just the quick easy way to do this. You can manually do it at any search engine or you can visit our site where we do it thousands of times a day. It will give you the result very quickly for free, we don’t ask for any email address, we don’t show you any advertisements, you can pull those reports and go show them to your own clients.
