Moniker DomaiNewz sat down with Fernando Munoz, Vice President of Digital Media with Lions Gate Entertainment, the company behind Academy Award Winning Movies such as The Cooler, Monster’s Ball and the hot new release, Godsend.Q: How did you hear about Moniker.com? A: Moniker were referred to us by another company, they said that Moniker were very solid. Q: Why did you select Moniker.com? A: Moniker has a very nice back-end system. It makes it easy to manage our domains and DNS Systems. We have a lot of DNS Systems and over 60 domains and we’re constantly making changes. The film industry is very active; there are lots of changes as we create domains around new movies, TV shows and videos. Q: What advantages does Moniker.com have vs. other options? A: Two reasons, their back-end system is easy to use and they are really personal. They’re always available by telephone when we need them, we get answers really fast. Q: What are some of the Moniker.com services that you use? A: We use domain registration, automatic renewals, credits – we buy a number of credits and it makes it fast and easy to register a domain when we’re in a rush to get a new domain, the back-end domain management system, tracking domains we don’t own and managing the process of acquiring those domains. Q: Can you comment on the customer service you get from Moniker.com? A: It has been really excellent, we haven’t had any problems, we get really prompt answers and the automated system is very easy to use. Q: If you were to recommend Moniker.com, to another company, what product or service benefits would you mention? A: The Moniker system gives you the independence and the autonomy; I get the ability to plan. For example, I’m going to need ten new domains in the next few months, I’ll buy the credits in advance, and then when I know the movie titles, I’ll use the system to find the domains I need and to secure them. Q: What has been the best single benefit you have experienced since switching to Moniker.com? A: The initial set up was easy and the pre-paid system is really awesome. Q: Are there any tips or suggestions you would like to share with other Domain managers from your years of experience? A: If you manage a lot of domains, pick a stable system that you know and you don’t have to figure out every time. The Moniker system is always the same, it always works and I can get a domain and change a DNS in just five minutes. You need procedures that are always the same and easy to use. Q: Are there any recent trends or best practices you would like to pass along to other Domain managers? A: You need to start preparing for IP Version6, it will have better security and features, and you’ll need to get ready.
