Secure Domain Escrow

Rock-solid escrow protection for buyer and seller

Using escrow is the most secure way to complete a domain name transaction. Escrow protects both the buyer and seller.

But not all escrow is created equal.

Moniker has the safest, most rock-solid domain escrow in the business. That’s because we control domain registration directly. Moniker, is a top ten ICANN-accredited registrar. So when we do escrow, we do it with full control over the domain, instead of relying on third parties to release domains upon payment.

Domain transactions with Moniker are fast and secure. Escrow takes uncertainty out of the equation.

How the Moniker escrow process works:

Step 1: Either party (buyer or seller) starts a new escrow transaction.

Step 2: Party #2 approves escrow terms entered by Party #1.

Step 3: Moniker sends transfer request - both parties sign and return contracts.

Step 4: Buyer sends payment to Moniker escrow account - seller provides authorization code to Moniker.

Step 5: Seller approves Form of Authorization to confirm transfer.

Step 6: Moniker verifies that all payments from buyer are received in escrow, and all domains from seller are received in escrow.

Step 7: Moniker simultaneously transfers all assets to complete transaction - funds are released to seller's Moniker account, seller selects payment method and Domain ownership is transferred to buyer's Moniker account.

Protection for buyers

Domain escrow with Moniker reduces risk, streamlines transfer and provides a number of important benefits to the seller:

  • Peace of mind: Domain names are transferred to escrow before funds are released to the seller.
  • Security: Financial information goes to a neutral third party.
  • Money-back Guarantee: If the seller doesn’t transfer the domain names, the buyer’s account is refunded.
  • Convenience – you can deposit into your escrow account with a personal, business, cashier’s or certified check; or via PayPal or wire transfer.
  • Support: live escrow and customer service agents are available throughout the transaction.

Protection for sellers

Escrow is a safety net for sellers. It ensures the buyer has funds to pay for the domain names. And it’s fast. Domain escrow services that rely on third party registrars have to wait for domain transfer. That slows down the process.

Moniker is an ICANN-Accredited Domain Registrar and an experienced domain broker. We handle the domain sale and transfer from the initial offer to the close of the transaction.

Seller benefits include:

  • Peace of Mind: funds are verified and cleared prior to domain name transfer
  • Security: escrow protects you against credit card fraud, insufficient funds or credit card charge-backs. All domain names are held at Moniker up to 60 days after change of ownership to ensure the transaction is legitimate.
  • Guaranteed payment – because funds are collected ahead of time, payment is guaranteed once transfer specifications are met.
  • Convenience – you can accept a variety of payment methods from your buyer, including wire transfers and checks.
  • Support: live escrow and customer service agents are available throughout the transaction.
