Good news: The registration of .asia domain names will be simplified on Jul 15. It is no longer necessary to provide a contact in the Asia Pacific region, or to use a trustee service.
Regarding existing .asia domain registrations, we will replace the trustee contact with the owner contact. We will implement these changes in our system on Jul 15 between 15:00 and 19:00 UTC. During this time no .asia transactions are possible.
Background of the changes is the migration of the .asia registry system to the new Afilias Shared Registry System and the updated .asia Charter Eligibility Declaration Requirement Policies.
